Is your website clearly the official source?
On 15 October 2026 Google said that “sometimes, there are only one or two official places on the web to complete a specific task”, and that it “will be testing” a display in its Search AI experiences that shows these links in a dedicated section at the top of a response (Google: More ways to connect with the web from Search). It is a test. Google did not say which countries or dates it covers, or how it chooses the links.
Our recommendation, whatever happens with the test: make your own site the place where your agency’s name, packages, prices and booking route are stated clearly and kept current, so people and assistants don’t have to rely on a third-party listing. See our guide: Google is testing an “official websites” box in AI answers.
Package prices and what is included
Write each package in text on its own page or section: destination, number of nights, what is included and excluded, and a starting price or how pricing works (for example per person, twin sharing, dates it applies to). A price that only appears inside an image or PDF is hard for search engines and assistants to read. We don’t advise on what to charge, and you don’t have to publish prices; if you don’t, say how to get a quote.
Enquiry route, office address and hours
Google’s Business Profile help says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up in local search results, and lists details such as address, hours and business category (Google Business Profile Help: Tips to improve your local ranking). Our recommendation is to make your own site say the same things in plain text:
- One clear way to enquire or book (form, email or phone) that works on a phone.
- Your office address, or the areas you serve if you work without an office, written the same way as on your Business Profile.
- Office hours, including days you are closed.
- The cities you sell from and the destinations you cover.
Structured data and crawler access
schema.org has a specific type for this business, TravelAgency, a sub-type of LocalBusiness (schema.org: TravelAgency). Google’s local business documentation says to use the most specific LocalBusiness sub-type possible (Google Search Central: Local business structured data), and its structured data policies say not to mark up content that is not visible to readers of the page (General structured data guidelines).
Google says there are “no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode” beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet (Google Search Central: AI features and your website). OpenAI says sites opted out of OAI-SearchBot “will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers” (OpenAI: Overview of OpenAI crawlers). We check that your robots.txt doesn’t block the crawlers you want.
What our audit checks for a travel agency website
We check whether your packages, prices or pricing approach, enquiry route, office address and hours are in readable text; whether your title and main heading say what you do and where; whether TravelAgency or LocalBusiness structured data is present, valid and matches the page; whether your own site is clearly the official source compared with listings about you; and whether search and AI crawlers can fetch your pages. You get a prioritised fix list. We don’t guarantee rankings, enquiries or mentions by any assistant.

FAQ
Will Google show our site in its “official websites” section?
We can’t say. Google has described it as a test and hasn’t said where it runs or how links are chosen. What you control is how clearly your own site states your name, packages, prices, office details and booking route.
Do we have to publish package prices?
No. That is your decision. If you don’t publish prices, you can still explain what each package includes and how to get a quote.
Will this get us more bookings?
We can’t promise that. The audit tells you what Google and AI assistants can and can’t read on your site, and what to fix first.
Do you manage our listings or Business Profile?
No. We audit your website and give you a fix list. Your listings, Business Profile and booking tools stay under your control.
What does the report cost?
