What the 2024 guidelines say a coaching centre’s website should carry
The Ministry of Education circulated the Guidelines for Regulation of Coaching Center to States and Union Territories on 16 January 2024, for them to take forward through their own legal framework (PIB, 7 Feb 2024). In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, published by PIB on 12 August 2026, the Ministry said the guidelines, among other things, provide for a coaching centre to have a website with:
“updated details of the qualification of tutors, details and duration of courses/curriculum, the fees being charged, easy exit policy, fee refund policy, number of students undertaking coaching from the center and number of students who finally succeeded in getting admission in Higher Education Institutions etc.”
(PIB, Ministry of Education, 12 Aug 2026)
Education is on the Concurrent List and each State or UT decides how to adopt these guidelines, so what is legally required depends on where each branch operates. Check your state’s rules. Either way, the list works as a content plan: every item on it is a plain fact that a search engine or assistant can read and repeat.
The CCPA guidelines on coaching advertisements (13 November 2024)
The Central Consumer Protection Authority’s Guidelines for Prevention of Misleading Advertisement in Coaching Sector, 2024 apply to every person engaged in coaching, including endorsers. As summarised by PIB, they prohibit false claims about:
- the courses offered, their duration, faculty qualifications, fees and refund policies;
- selection rates, success stories, exam rankings and job-security promises;
- assured admissions, high exam scores, guaranteed selections or promotions.
When an advertisement shows a successful student, it must disclose the student’s name, rank and course details, and whether the course was paid for. Disclaimers must be as prominent as the other key details, in the same font size. PIB also reported that a student’s name, photo or testimonial may be used only with written consent obtained after the student’s success, and that false urgency or scarcity (such as implying limited seats) is targeted. (PIB, 13 Nov 2024)
In April 2025 the CCPA advised coaching centres to avoid assurances of guaranteed success, and said it had issued notices to some institutes over guaranteed placement or selection and assured JEE/NEET ranks. (PIB, 17 Apr 2025)
On your website, a results page and a course page can both be advertising. Write them so every claim can be checked.
A page structure that machines can read
- One page per course: exam or subject, syllabus outline, duration, batch timings and mode (classroom or online), total fees with what’s included, and a link to the refund and exit policy.
- A refund and exit policy page in plain text (not only a PDF or an image), explaining how a student leaves mid-course and what is refunded.
- A faculty page with each tutor’s name, subjects and qualifications as text.
- One page per branch with the same name, full address with PIN and contact details as everywhere else.
- A results page that follows the CCPA disclosure rules for every student shown, with no absolute claims such as “everyone gets selected”.
Avoid putting fees, timetables or results only inside images or downloadable brochures. Crawlers and assistants often can’t read them, and parents can’t search them.
Structured data and AI crawler access
Mark up the institute with schema.org EducationalOrganization (name, url, logo, address, contact details, branches). Use it to make the facts unambiguous, not to chase a special result. Google says not to mark up content that is not visible to readers of the page (Google structured data guidelines), and that “there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode” beyond normal SEO best practices (Google: AI features and your website).
Check that your robots.txt doesn’t block the crawlers assistants use to read pages. OpenAI, for example, documents OAI-SearchBot (search) separately from GPTBot (training), and each can be allowed or blocked independently (OpenAI crawlers).
What our audit checks on your website
- Technical SEO basics: title and meta description, headings, HTTPS, mobile viewport, canonical, sitemap, image alt text, page text depth.
- Mobile page speed: a Lighthouse lab test on throttled mobile (performance score, Largest Contentful Paint, blocking time, layout shift, page weight).
- AI search readiness: structured data, FAQ markup,
llms.txt, and whetherrobots.txtblocks the crawlers that ChatGPT, Perplexity and Claude use to read the pages they cite. - Local details: whether your name, address with PIN and contact details are consistent on the page and in your schema.
- Prioritised fixes: P1 / P2 / P3 in plain English, each with how-to steps.

We can’t promise that, and nobody honestly can. We measure the fixable things on your website that make it easier for Google and AI assistants to read and understand it.
Do you review our results claims for CCPA compliance?
No. We don’t give legal advice. The report covers what Google and AI crawlers can read on your site. Ask your own adviser to review claims against the CCPA guidelines.
