Physiotherapy clinic website audit: conditions, area and home-visit details that Google and AI assistants can read

Patients search for physio for back pain near them and increasingly ask assistants which clinic does home visits. If your site doesn’t list the conditions you treat, your area and whether you do home visits, those tools have nothing to quote. This page covers what Google, schema.org and OpenAI say, and what to put in text on your own website. We don’t make cure or outcome claims, and we don’t advise on clinical care.

Conditions, service area and home visits in plain text

Write in text on your own pages: the conditions or treatment areas you handle (for example back pain, sports injury, post-op rehab), the localities or cities you serve, and whether you offer home visits (and any limits on distance or hours). A list that only appears inside an image, PDF or Instagram carousel is hard for search engines and assistants to read. State what you do; don’t invent outcomes, cure rates or recovery times.

Clinic address, hours and booking route

Google’s Business Profile help says businesses with complete and accurate information are more likely to show up in local search results, and lists details such as address, hours and business category (Google Business Profile Help: Tips to improve your local ranking). Our recommendation is to make your own site say the same things in plain text:

  • Your clinic address with PIN, written the same way as on your Business Profile.
  • Opening hours, including days you are closed.
  • One clear way to book or enquire (form, email or phone) that works on a phone.
  • Whether home visits need a separate booking route.

MedicalClinic structured data and crawler access

schema.org has MedicalClinic for clinic-style local medical businesses (schema.org: MedicalClinic). Note that schema.org’s Physiotherapy term is a medical specialty enumeration member, not a LocalBusiness type, so it is not the right @type for the organisation itself. Google’s local business documentation says to use the most specific LocalBusiness sub-type that fits (Google Search Central: Local business structured data), and its structured data policies say not to mark up content that is not visible to readers of the page (General structured data guidelines).

Google says there are “no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode” beyond being indexed and eligible for a snippet (Google Search Central: AI features and your website). OpenAI says sites opted out of OAI-SearchBot “will not be shown in ChatGPT search answers” (OpenAI: Overview of OpenAI crawlers). We check that your robots.txt doesn’t block the crawlers you want.

What our audit checks for a physiotherapy clinic website

We check whether your conditions treated, service area, home-visit policy, address, hours and booking route are in readable text; whether your title and main heading say what you do and where; whether MedicalClinic or LocalBusiness structured data is present, valid and matches the page; and whether search and AI crawlers can fetch your pages. You get a prioritised fix list. We don’t guarantee rankings, enquiries or mentions by any assistant, and we don’t advise on clinical care, cures or outcomes.

Self-check

Your quick website self-check

  1. Conditions or treatment areas you handle are written in text, not only in images or PDFs.
  2. Service area and whether you offer home visits are stated clearly.
  3. Clinic address and hours are in text and match your Google Business Profile.
  4. There is one clear booking or enquiry route that works on a phone.
  5. MedicalClinic or LocalBusiness structured data matches what the page shows (not Physiotherapy as @type).
  6. robots.txt doesn’t block OAI-SearchBot, Googlebot or the other crawlers you want.

FAQ

Do you claim we can cure or improve outcomes?

No. We audit what search engines and AI assistants can read on your website. We never make cure or outcome claims, and neither should your site if those claims can’t be supported.

Should we use Physiotherapy as our schema @type?

No. On schema.org, Physiotherapy is a medical specialty enumeration member, not a LocalBusiness type. Prefer MedicalClinic (or LocalBusiness) for the organisation, matching what the page shows.

Will this get us more patient bookings?

We can’t promise that. The audit tells you what Google and AI assistants can and can’t read on your site, and what to fix first.

Do you manage our Business Profile or listings?

No. We audit your website and give you a fix list. Your listings, Business Profile and booking tools stay under your control.

What does the report cost?

The free mini-audit is ₹0. The full AI Visibility + Website Audit report is ₹1,499 and the Report + Fix Pack is ₹4,999. Paid reports can be paid online through our Razorpay Payment Pages (UPI, cards, netbanking), billed as Trade Me India.
